The fashion calendar differs from your day to day calendar, designers are constantly thinking about the next season. Spring has just sprung, and summer is right around the corner, but the Fall 2010 collections were presented in February. I have discovered one of my new favorite designers, Chris Benz. His Fall-Winter 2010 collection, Outward Bound Debutante, is eclectic and modern, yet still remains somewhat realistic. I am loving the fur trim and mittens, metallic, embellishments in all the right spots, and the perfect use of color. While all his garments may not be the plain tee or basic trouser, you can still find some essential classics, like the solid dress or blazer. Chris said during fashion week, "It's inspired by those bad girls I knew in high school. The ones who got sent away to wilderness camp. This is what I imagine them wearing." I don't really get the wilderness camp vibe, maybe if the wilderness camp was located in NYC, but whatever his inspiration might have been, it worked.
