It's well known that country music stars don't always dress-to-impress on the red carpet. That said, I was surprised by the stylish gown choices of country's leading ladies at the recent Academy of Country Music Awards. Jennifer Nettles, of Sugarland, is by far the best dressed of the night. Her custom Max Azria gown is flawless for many reasons: the vibrant color, perfectly-placed belt, flattering pleats and lace. What more could your want?
Other best-dressed contenders included country veterans and newcomer, Miranda Lambert. Taylor Swift strayed from her usual glitter-adorned gown and opted for a white J. Mendel number. LeAnn Rimes proved that she is up-to-date on designer collections and trends, wearing the highly-coveted, paisley-printed Stella McCartney dress that has become a fashion favorite. Carrie Underwood's gown is not necessarily my favorite, yet deserves attention because she dressed for her body type. Miranda Lambert looks a bit mermaid-reminiscent, but she took a risk and it paid off.
