l o v e y o u r s t y l e .

I'm currently half way through Amanda Brooks' book I Love Your Style: How to Define and Refine Your Personal Style. Brooks is a fashion consultant for Vogue, former creative director of Tuleh, socialite, muse and super mom. Each chapter in this book is dedicated to a different style and the interpretations of that style:

Classic
Bohemian
Minimal
High Fashion
Street
Eclectic
Basics
Cheap Chic
Designer
Vintage

Brooks offers advice on how to appropriately put each style into play. There are over 400 photos of fashion icons throughout the decades including Jackie Kennedy and Coco Chanel. After reading the Minimal section, I have a new found love for minimalism that I expect to put into play this fall. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is on the border about their personal style or needing a wardrobe update. This is going to be my go to style manual, I know that I'll be flipping through the pages for years to come as I sense a change in my style.

"My greatest belief about clothes is that style does not come to you unless you pay attention to it."

“People with personal style often make mistakes,” writes Brooks. “That’s how we learn what suits us. It’s that fearlessness in trying a new style. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.”
